About The Position

Dennis K. Burke Inc., a family-owned business and one of New England's largest suppliers of diesel fuel, gasoline, and motor oil products, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for their Fleet in Seekonk, MA. Requirements

  • Two (2) or more years of experience working on diesel trucks/vehicles.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the truck maintenance field.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft suite (Word, email, data entry).
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Motor Vehicle Mechanic Certification is highly preferred.
  • Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Certification (Diesel Engines) is preferred.
  • CDL A-B with Hazmat endorsement is preferred.
  • Certified Heavy-Duty Diesel mechanic with Hazmat.
  • Engine Performance & Brakes Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains service operations by inspecting and maintaining trucks.
  • Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and performing diagnostic testing of trucks.
  • Completes preventative maintenance, such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire changes, and replacing filters.
  • Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to driver complaints, conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains diesel truck engines.
  • Examines trucks, repairs, overhauls, and adjusts truck brake systems.
  • Installs and repairs air conditioners and service components.
  • Performs diagnostic engine repair.
  • Diagnoses and repairs anti-lock braking systems.
  • Conducts routine D.O.T. truck inspections and maintenance.
  • Adjusts and realigns brakes.
  • Test drives vehicles.
  • Reviews work orders and discusses with Fleet Manager.
  • Follows checklists to ensure all important parts are examined.
  • Provides road repair on vehicles as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
