About The Position

This role is responsible for keeping a fleet of garbage trucks running strong through handling repairs, inspections, and safety checks. The mechanic will diagnose and fix electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems, utilize vehicle computer systems for troubleshooting and engine control adjustments, and review/complete driver inspection reports. Daily tasks include logging work in fleet maintenance software, test-driving trucks post-service, collaborating with teammates, maintaining shop cleanliness, interacting professionally with drivers, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of diesel or heavy truck maintenance experience
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair techniques
  • Basic tool set

Nice To Haves

  • Hydraulic experience
  • ASE certification
  • Class A or B CDL

Responsibilities

  • Handling repairs, inspections, and safety checks
  • Diagnosing and fixing electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and air systems
