About The Position
Interstate Waste Services (IWS) is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team. IWS is a leading provider of solid waste and recycling services in Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, and New York City, with a landfill in Ohio. The company focuses on providing high-quality waste, recycling, and environmental services while prioritizing employee, customer, and environmental safety. This role is crucial for maintaining the company's fleet and ensuring operational efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience working as a heavy-duty Diesel Mechanic.
- Hydraulics experience is required.
- Experience with diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, Peterbilt, and Paccar.
- Must be able to provide own tools.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform engine and transmission maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct chassis component repairs and maintenance, including air brakes, suspension, drivetrain, and steering components.
- Maintain and repair exhaust systems equipped with DPF systems.
- Utilize diagnostic software such as Premium Tech Tool (Mack), Allison transmission, Cummins, Peterbilt, and Paccar.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards.
