About The Position

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Reno, NV Service Center. This unique position requires travel. This is a traveling position and will require up to 3 weeks of travel per month using company provided vehicle. Two weeks traveling in the region, one week at Reno and then two weeks traveling. The region consist of the following terminals. West Sacramento, CA. Vallejo, CA. San Lorenzo, CA. Ceres, CA. Fresno, CA. San Jose, CA. Fife, WA. Arlington, WA. Spokane, WA. Portland, OR. Umatilla, OR. Company will provide hotel and per diem for overnight travel. You will supply your own tools for this position, a mobile tool box or something similar that will fit in a van and be secured. Once you arrive to the travel location you will report to the Shop Forman for your work assignments.

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver license with a clean and clear MVR.
• Must have strong computer skills including all diagnostic software: Cummins Insite, Service Ranger, Bendix, WABCO, Davie 4, Diamond Logic, Detroit DL, ESA, Service Maxx, Allison Transmission, Paccar Key Master.
• Must have a good work ethic, be a self-starter with strong people skills.
• Must supply own tools, including a mobile toolbox that fits in a van and can be secured.

Nice To Haves

• 2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Class A CDL holder.
• Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and repair work on diesel engines.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on diesel engines and related systems.
• Travel to various terminals within the region to perform mechanic duties.
• Report to the Shop Foreman for work assignments upon arrival at travel locations.
• Ensure tools are properly secured in the company-provided van.
