About The Position

Bay Disposal is looking for a safety conscious Diesel Mechanic to join the team in Norfolk, VA. This role involves performing repairs, including electrical and hydraulic systems, and assigned preventive maintenance services. The mechanic will utilize vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs. Additionally, the position requires conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment, completing required paperwork using fleet maintenance software for repairs, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times. The mechanic will also review and complete repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports and maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

Requirements

Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.
Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
