The Diesel Mechanic will perform routine maintenance functions and adjustments on all types of class 6 through 8 diesel equipment, forklifts, and trailing equipment. This includes inspecting and performing work in, on, or under equipment, repairing or rebuilding equipment systems, and troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment and component issues. The role also involves performing HVAC system repairs, abiding by DOT, EPA, Interstate Authority, OSHA, and other regulations, conducting safety inspections, maintaining proficiency with equipment and technologies, moving trailers using a hostler in various weather conditions, entering job times and parts on repair orders, operating specialized tooling and vehicles, and ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work area. Interaction with operations and shop management is also a key part of the role.
