About The Position

Whiteline Express is growing and has excellent opportunities for Diesel Mechanics to join our Jackson Center, Ohio team. We are looking for experienced Mechanics looking for a supportive place to call home or newcomers to the field looking for the training to accelerate their career. Whiteline Express is a truckload carrier with headquarters in Plymouth, MI, founded in 1983. We have terminals in Plymouth, MI, Jackson Center, OH, Medina, OH, Alsip, IL, and Champaign, IL. Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is preferred
• Class A CDL license
• Mechanic experience working on heavy duty trucks and tractor trailers
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and diesel engine problems
• Ability to use battery and charging system test equipment
• Basic welding skills (Mig, Oxy/Acl) for welding/fabricating bodywork and parts

Responsibilities

• Keep our fleet of Class A trucks and trailers operating in top shape.
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including removing, cleaning, repairing, reinstalling and adjusting truck and trailer components.
• Diagnose mechanical problems, complete repairs and rebuild equipment for anything from brakes, transmissions, rear-ends, clutches, electrical components to diesel engines and more.
• Evaluate completed work and conduct final inspection of equipment prior to release to ensure compliance with federal and state code regulations and our company safety standards.
• Make service calls offsite, as needed.
• Open and close the maintenance garage, based on schedule.
