Diesel Mechanic
About The Position
We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with additional experience in hydraulic systems. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, and repairing our fleet of vehicles and equipment to keep them running smoothly and safely. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal diesel mechanic training program preferred.
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, with a strong understanding of diesel engine systems and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine and hydraulic issues.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be willing to travel between our two office locations (Rocky Hill, CT/Haverhill, MA).
Nice To Haves
- Hydraulic experience is a plus.
- Possession of a valid CDL is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related components.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify any potential problems or safety concerns.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot complex engine and hydraulic issues.
- Ensure all repairs are completed accurately and efficiently, following company standards and safety protocols.
- Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding the status of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Assist with other duties as needed, including occasional driving of company vehicles.
