About The Position

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Fontana, CA Service Center. This unique position requires travel. This is a traveling position and will require up to 3 weeks of travel per month. Monday – Friday you will report daily to the Fontana terminal located in Bloomington, CA to retrieve the company service vehicle. You will then proceed to one of our terminals in the LA area to assist the local shop and return back to Fontana daily. Terminals to service are Montebello, CA. Pacoima, CA. Carson, CA. Anaheim, CA. and San Diego. San Diego will require overnight stay with hotel and per diem provided by R&L Carriers. This is a 40 hour a week position. You will supply your own tools for this position, a mobile tool box or something similar that will fit in a van and be secured.

Requirements

Must have a valid driver license with a clean and clear MVR.
Must have strong computer skills including all diagnostic software (Cummins Insite, Service Ranger, Bendix, WABCO, Davie 4, Diamond Logic, ESA, Service Maxx, Allison Transmission, Paccar Key Master).
Must have a good work ethic, be a self-starter with strong people skills.
Must have your own tools.
Must have at least 2 years of Shop Related Experience.

Nice To Haves

2+ Years of Diesel Mechanic experience preferred.
Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines.
Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
Class A CDL holder.
Experience driving Class 8 commercial trucks.

Responsibilities

Report daily to the Fontana terminal to retrieve the company service vehicle.
Travel to various terminals in the LA area (Montebello, Pacoima, Carson, Anaheim, and San Diego) to assist local shops.
Perform diagnostic and repair work on diesel engines and related systems.
Maintain company service vehicle.
Secure own tools in a mobile toolbox that fits in a van.
