About The Position

Diesel Mechanic performs a range of maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks on various vehicles and equipment. This role involves repairing and maintaining systems and parts associated with class 6, 7, and 8 powered tractors. The mechanic will diagnose failures and repair the vehicle's mechanical, electric, and systems, using hydraulic jacks to gain access underneath vehicles. Responsibilities include assisting in the replacement of engines, transmissions, differentials, and springs, as well as troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty truck engines, braking, electrical, and exhaust systems. The role also requires documenting repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks, collaborating with business partners for training and assistance on complex repairs, and testing vehicles after repairs and maintenance to ensure proper functioning.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
  • Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public; understand oral and written instructions as well as governmental regulations; respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives; and accurately review and complete various documents, reports and records required of the position.

Responsibilities
