About The Position
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Mechanic in Harvey, LA, to join our team. This role is crucial for maintaining our equipment and ensuring the safe and efficient transport of critical products. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling diesel tractors and specialized systems to meet DOT standards and safety protocols. This position requires a purpose-driven approach and serves as an essential connector for our delivery operations.
Requirements
- 1+ year of automotive maintenance/mechanical experience
- Experience with a variety of basic hand, power tools and equipment.
- Knowledgeable in gasoline engine mechanics and preventative maintenance.
- Valid Driver’s License (non CDL).
- Must bring own basic hand tools.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), two years technical college or military technical experience.
- Familiarity or interest in cryogenics.
- Familiarity or interest in hydraulics.
- Class A CDL with HazMat; DOT brake certification is a plus (Not Required).
Responsibilities
- Expertly maintain, repair, and overhaul diesel tractors and specialized systems to ensure all equipment meets DOT standards and safety protocols.
- Implement creative solutions to ensure smooth equipment flow and translate maintenance reports into impactful service strategies.
- Partner with the team to communicate technical needs clearly while cultivating a "Safety First" environment focused on proactive maintenance.
- Repair pumping equipment on work sites and district shops to assist in maintaining equipment.
