About The Position

Givens is Driven To Deliver - both for our customers and our employees. Since 1957 Givens has provided customers a single source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We have been growing significantly over the last few years and continue to grow at a rapid pace. We are currently seeking a Class A Mechanic to help maintain our fleet of tractors, trailers, forklifts and other equipment.

Requirements

Must pass drug screening
High school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship in automotive is preferred
Must have a valid driver's license
Minimum two years' experience as a Class A Mechanic working on heavy duty trucks, trailers, forklifts, etc.
Must be computer literate and have the ability to be trained on software systems
Willingness to learn
Ability to use shop tools to include hand tools, air tools, and electrical tools
Frequently lift and move up to 100lbs
Ability to stand, walk, and use hands with no physical impairment that might restrict working around on top of or under equipment
Be able to get along with other employees and have a can-do attitude

Nice To Haves

Associates degree is a plus
State inspectors license a plus
Experience in software such as Davie 4, Service Ranger, ESA, Diagnostic 8, Cummins a plus

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair equipment to include heavy duty trucks, trailers, electric forklifts, and other equipment
Conduct routine maintenance work on equipment
Ability to complete paperwork for routine maintenance and requesting parts
Diagnose and repair ABS brake systems
Other duties as assigned
