Lofton Staffing is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Mechanic for a temp-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have experience diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered heavy equipment and forklifts. Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 3 years of experience repairing heavy equipment and diesel engines.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to obtain a TWIC Card and OSHA certification/cards.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on diesel engines, heavy equipment, and forklifts.
Use diagnostic software and testing equipment to identify and troubleshoot problems.
Repair fuel systems, electronic control systems, hydraulic components, and other equipment systems.
Perform routine maintenance, including oil and filter changes, fluid checks and top-offs, and equipment inspections.
Complete preventative maintenance to maximize equipment performance and reliability.
Possess a strong knowledge of diesel engine operation, fuel systems, combustion, and electronic controls.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic and repair equipment.
Follow all safety regulations and best practices while working with heavy equipment and hazardous materials.
Lift and move heavy parts and equipment as needed.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Perform occasional field service work when required.
