About The Position

First Student is hiring immediately for a Mechanic for their shop serving Medford School District. As a Technician at First Student, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of the children who count on us for a ride to and from school in those classic yellow buses. At First Student, our technicians perform maintenance to ensure our fleet of newer vehicles is safe for road travel. They also use their diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues needing repair work. Mechanics and technicians are subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason. In the state of Washington, all technician and driving positions, including but not limited to van drivers and any other position requiring employees to drive a company-owned vehicle, are considered safety-sensitive and are therefore subject to drug and alcohol testing, including cannabis. Requirements

3 or more years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
A valid driver’s license
A willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
A mechanic’s tool set
Willingness to grow, learn, and develop your skillset through ASE testing

Responsibilities

Performing maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions
