About The Position

First Student is hiring immediately for a Mechanic for our shop serving Willamina, McMinnville, Dayton, and Amity School Districts! As a Technician at First Student, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of the children who count on us for a ride to and from school in those classic yellow buses. At First Student, our technicians perform maintenance to ensure our fleet of newer vehicles is safe for road travel. They also use their diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues needing repair work.

Requirements

3 or more years of experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
A valid driver’s license and a willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
A mechanic’s tool set
Willingness to grow, learn, and develop your skillset through ASE testing
Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee

Responsibilities

Performing maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions
Completing work orders
Assisting with mobile emergency services
Performing maintenance to ensure our fleet of newer vehicles is safe for road travel
Using diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues needing repair work
