About The Position

GAC Enterprises, LLC is seeking a dependable and mechanically skilled Diesel Mechanic to support the maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on diesel and gas-powered units to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient fleet operations. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced construction and field operations environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience as a diesel mechanic, heavy equipment mechanic, or related mechanical role preferred
  • Experience working with construction, telecom, or fleet equipment is a plus
  • Basic understanding of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems preferred
  • Ability to work in outdoor and field-based environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn and grow within the organization
  • Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals, repair documentation, and safety procedures
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with field teams and leadership
  • Basic computer and mobile device proficiency for work orders, reporting, and communication
  • Ability to use diagnostic software, GPS tools, and mobile applications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards
  • Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA certification preferred
  • CDL or equipment-related certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair company vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, differentials, turbochargers, fuel systems, and related mechanical components
  • Perform preventative maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, lubrication, cooling system maintenance, and component replacement
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, brake, and air systems
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and technology to identify and resolve mechanical issues
  • Support maintenance and repair activities for tractors, trailers, mini excavators, horizontal drills, and other construction equipment
  • Perform basic welding and fabrication as needed
  • Maintain accurate repair records and maintenance documentation
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with company safety standards
  • Assist with additional maintenance projects and operational needs as assigned
