About The Position

Waste Connections, Inc. is hiring a high-energy Diesel Mechanic to join the team at their Miami facility. Previous waste experience is a plus. This position is for the night shift, working Monday to Friday from 2 PM to 12 AM, with every other Saturday. The pay range is $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Must provide your own personal tools.
• Computer experience is required for using fleet maintenance software.

Nice To Haves

• Previous waste experience is a huge plus.
• Experience with DPF Regeneration systems on CUMMINS and MACK trucks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services.
• Conduct inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
• Complete required paperwork using fleet maintenance software programs to document repairs, parts usage, and repair times.
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
