About The Position

Diesel Mechanic performs a range of maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks on various vehicles and equipment. This role involves repairing and maintaining systems and parts associated with class 6, 7, and 8 powered tractors, diagnosing failures, and repairing the vehicle's mechanical, electric, and systems. The mechanic will use hydraulic jacks to gain access underneath vehicles, assist in the replacements of engines, transmissions, differentials, and springs, and troubleshoot repairs of heavy-duty truck engines, braking, electrical, and exhaust systems. Responsibilities also include documenting repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks, collaborating with business partners for training and assistance on complex repairs, and testing vehicles after repairs and maintenance to ensure proper functioning.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Must provide and maintain personal maintenance tools.
Read, write, communicate and comprehend the English language in order to perform the various tasks of the job, including but not limited to: converse with co-workers and members of the general public; understand oral and written instructions as well as governmental regulations; respond to questions and inquiries from management and government representatives; and accurately review and complete various documents, reports and records required of the position.

Nice To Haves

2 years of diesel mechanic experience.
