Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of proven experience as a level B Mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical systems
  • Skilled in using hand tools, shop tools, and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers)
  • Ability to follow established procedures, read instruction manuals, and wiring schematics
  • Must have basic hand tools for daily use
  • Commitment to adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Strong physical stamina and good overall fitness
  • Positive attitude and reliable attendance
  • High school diploma preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship is a plus
  • ASE certifications are preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Construct mechanical systems or components based on blueprints, technical specifications, or instructions, including following proper torque specs, sequences, and ensuring all parts are correctly installed.
  • Examine equipment and identify mechanical issues, including visually inspecting parts, listening for abnormal sounds, checking system performance, and using tools to diagnose issues.
  • Use tools and systems (diagnostic software, multimeters) to run tests that determine root causes of malfunctions and maintain accurate records of findings and actions taken.
  • Perform mechanical work to restore function or improve reliability of machines, involving replacing or repairing parts with attention to detail, safety, and long-term durability.
  • Perform regularly scheduled maintenance tasks aimed at preventing equipment breakdowns, including checking, cleaning, adjusting, and replacing parts to extend machinery life.
  • Manage lubrication and fluids critical to machinery operation, including applying grease/oil, checking and replacing fluids, and recognizing signs of leaks or contamination.
  • Communicate clearly with equipment users about maintenance needs, care techniques, and best practices to prevent premature wear or breakdowns.
  • Perform additional or specialized repair tasks such as hydraulic system maintenance, painting, electrical fixes, or minor body work that fall outside core mechanical repairs.
  • Service and repair large machinery such as sweepers, loaders, backhoes, and other industrial vehicles, involving understanding their systems and operating conditions.
  • Consistently report to work on time and as scheduled, with minimal unexcused absences, being present and prepared to work throughout assigned shifts, and reliably adhering to start times, breaks, and end times.
