About The Position
Waste Connections, Inc. is looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join their high-performing team in Altamonte Springs, FL. While experience in the Waste or Recycling industry is a plus, it is not required. The company offers competitive pay, great benefits, and a $5,000 Stay-On Bonus.
Requirements
- 2+ Years of hands-on Diesel Mechanic experience
- Strong knowledge of DPF Regeneration Systems (especially CUMMINS and MACK)
- Must have your own tools.
- Comfortable working 2nd shift (2PM – 2AM)
- Basic computer skills for Diagnostics and Documentation
- Commitment to safety practices and PPE usage
Nice To Haves
- Experience in the Waste or Recycling industry
- Welding/Fabrication skills
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Diesel Trucks and Heavy Equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
- Use onboard computer systems to identify and resolve vehicle issues.
- Complete work orders and documentation using fleet maintenance software.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform on-site service calls.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and OSHA-compliant work environment.
