About The Position

County Waste has an immediate opening for an Entry Level Diesel Mechanic to join their growing team. This role focuses on the preventative maintenance and minor repairs of equipment used in the transportation and handling of vehicles. The position involves inspecting tires, performing break and lube jobs, and handling minor electrical and hydraulic repairs. The mechanic will also train with senior technicians, utilize fleet maintenance software, and advise supervisors on larger repairs. Responsibilities include conducting safety checks, performing service calls for emergency breakdowns, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
Schedule flexibility to work 2nd shift Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays
Ability to adapt to a wide variety of environments to complete work assignments
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

Providing preventative maintenance check services
Training with senior techs to further skill set
Completing required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
Completing, or assigning minor repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
Advise supervisor on larger repairs
Conducting safety checks on vehicles and equipment
Performing service calls for emergency breakdowns
Maintaining a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
