The Diesel Mechanic maintains diesel equipment, completes inspections and preventive maintenance requirements, corrects vehicle deficiencies, and maintains records to ensure the company can keep its level of commitment to safety and customer service. The candidate must have a minimum of 2-years experience inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing trucks and stationary equipment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effective listening and problem-solving skills are essential. It is also important that the candidate has demonstrated the ability to work as part of a team in a collaborative environment. Experience in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics and pneumatics pumps and motors is required. The ideal candidate will be a hybrid between a shop foreman and a field mechanic.
