The Lehigh Valley Division in Allentown, PA, is currently searching for Diesel Mechanics due to growth. Requirements

  • Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferable experience.
  • Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment.
  • Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • PA State Inspection License (highly desired)

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance on trucks and construction equipment, including auxiliary components, in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs.
  • Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and safely resolve problems.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, and hydraulics.
  • Complete machine shop operations, making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units.
  • Undertake special projects and other job duties as assigned.
