About The Position

As a Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech II), you’ll use your skills (diesel, automotive, welding or other mechanical) to perform maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs on equipment in a safe and professional manner. Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, and if you have the desire and ambition, you’ll have the potential to work towards higher level Tech roles in our Service Department. Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers. Under limited supervision, performs manual and maintenance tasks as well as minor repairs of equipment.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Basic mechanical aptitude and 1-2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience
This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Perform minor repairs including basic vehicle diagnostics.
Preventive maintenance services on truck and trailer equipment including replacing/rotating tires, completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
Ensure vehicles are well maintained and safe for our customers
Maintain clear and accurate and timely service records or work performed, repair logs, and parts
Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner
Other duties as assigned
