About The Position

WM is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join their team, offering a safer work environment, financial security, and career advancement opportunities. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for fixing trucks and equipment that service over 20 million customers across the USA. You will work on equipment requiring a high level of skill, using modern tools and procedures for maintenance on diesel and CNG trucks. The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various vehicle systems, estimating repair costs, responding to breakdowns, performing safety checks, completing paperwork, and assisting senior mechanics. The job is located at a repair/maintenance shop at their Texarkana, TX hauling site.

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant work experience
• A valid drivers license, with a clean driving record
• Be over 18 years of age.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years or more experience with Fleet Diesel Mechanic Engine Diagnosis
• Hydraulic Knowledge
• Must have own tools
• Will be required to go to training for 2 weeks in Arizona

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
• Estimates time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
• Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
• Safety checks on vehicles.
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
• Assisting senior Mechanics in the completion of project work.
• Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
• Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
