About The Position

This position is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of pumps, engines, tanks, and related rental equipment. The role involves diagnosing mechanical, fuel, electrical, and equipment-performance concerns, performing field service, and ensuring equipment is safe and ready for service. The Diesel Mechanic will also work closely with service, operations, and yard teams to support rental readiness and provide professional customer support. Safety and compliance with all PPE, lifting, tool, environmental, driving, and site-safety requirements are paramount. The position is based at the Pittsburg location and requires local field service travel.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of diesel mechanic experience in diesel engines, industrial maintenance, automotive repair, heavy equipment, pumps, construction equipment, or related mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read equipment information and complete service documentation.
  • Must have a valid driver's license for more than 3 years with a moderately clean driving record; DOT physical required.
  • Possess or can obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card.
  • Must have hands-on field service experience and strong customer service skills.
  • Must provide personal tools and demonstrate mechanical aptitude, including the safe use of hand, power, and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect pumps, engines, tanks, and related rental equipment and document condition.
  • Complete assigned preventive maintenance, repairs, and functional checks.
  • Use work orders to record labor, parts, findings, and completed work.
  • Maintain tools, service vehicles, and work areas in good order.
  • Diagnose mechanical, fuel, electrical, and equipment-performance concerns appropriate to the role level.
  • Perform field service and communicate findings, repair needs, and equipment status.
  • Verify repairs and confirm equipment is safe and ready for service.
  • Escalate complex issues and learn from senior mechanics and technical resources.
  • Work closely with service, operations, and yard teams to support rental readiness.
  • Provide professional, respectful support at customer locations.
  • Participate actively in training and skills development.
  • Follow PPE, lifting, tool, environmental, driving, and site-safety requirements.
  • Stop and report unsafe conditions, equipment damage, spills, or hazards promptly.
