About The Position

JP Mascaro & Sons, a locally owned and operated private family-owned company, is experiencing record growth and success. Founded in 1964 with one truck, it has become one of the largest, most successful fully integrated solid waste companies serving the mid-Atlantic area. The Lehigh Valley Division in Allentown, PA, is currently searching for Diesel Mechanics due to growth. The role involves performing diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on trucks and construction equipment, including auxiliary components, in accordance with manufacturer's specifications. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in the safe operation of garage tools and diagnostic equipment, capable of identifying and obtaining necessary replacement parts, and adhering to manufacturer's warranty policies. Responsibilities include analyzing and resolving problems, correcting vehicle deficiencies by repairing or replacing various assemblies and components, and undertaking special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferable experience
Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment
Ability to Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manuals
Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software
A valid driver’s license
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Must be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

Nice To Haves

A Commercial Driving License (A or B)

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostic, repair and maintenance on trucks, construction equipment, including auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications
Knowledgeable in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists and jacking equipment
Identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
Adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures
Capability to independently analyze and safely resolve problems
Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems, such as, power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering, hydraulics; completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units
