About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our new Fridley team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience in diagnosing issues and in working on various types of school buses, heavy equipment, and other vehicles. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure that all machinery operates efficiently and safely. Starting hourly wage between $25.58 - $44.27 based on experience.

Requirements

Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive repair, including brake repair, transmission work, and air brake systems.
Proficiency in heavy equipment operation and maintenance, including hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform tire service duties as required.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on automotive diagnostics.
Candidates must have the ability to get a CDL or possess one already.

Nice To Haves

Strong electrical experience is beneficial for troubleshooting complex systems.
Customer service skills to effectively communicate with teammates about vehicle needs.

Responsibilities

Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems.
Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repairs effectively.
Work with schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical components.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.
