About The Position
Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join their team. This is a field-based role responsible for performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks. Requirements
- At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks.
- DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise.
- Strong communication skills.
- Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.
- Ready for the outdoors – rain or shine at customer yards.
- Independent, dependable, and self-motivated.
- A positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
- Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
- Must bring own hand tools.
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in CNG engine systems is a huge plus!
Responsibilities
- Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks in a field environment.
- Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues fast.
- Put expertise to work using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to get the job done right.
- Road test vehicles to ensure every repair meets top-quality standards.
- Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times.
- Support team members wherever needed.
