About The Position

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is hiring a field-based Diesel Mechanic/Technician to perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6–8 trucks. The technician responds to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service, performs onsite DOT inspections and follow-up repairs, and helps keep customer fleets safe, reliable, and road-ready. The role involves independent work at customer yards and collaborating with a supportive team as needed. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 4:00 AM–12:30 AM.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of hands-on diesel technician experience working on Class 6–8 trucks.
• Expertise in DOT inspections and air brake repair.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and drivers.
• Comfort using mobile apps, navigation systems, and digital tools to organize work and document repairs.
• Ability to work outdoors in customer yards in all weather conditions.
• Independent, dependable, and self-motivated approach to work.
• Positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
• Must be at least 23 years old and have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must bring personal hand tools.

• Expertise in CNG engine systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on Class 6–8 trucks in a field environment.
• Complete follow-up repairs after inspections.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
• Use diagnostic tools, handheld computers, and precision instruments to identify and resolve issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to perform repairs.
• Road test vehicles to verify repair quality.
• Meet or exceed industry-standard repair times while maintaining productivity and efficiency.
• Support other team members as needed.
