About The Position

Miller Transportation Group, a leader in the transportation industry since 1912, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician for its Miller Truck Leasing division in Hartford, CT. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a family-owned business with over 100 years of experience and a fleet of over 8,000 trucks. Miller operates more than 40 Diesel Maintenance shops across several states and is known for being large enough to serve but small enough to care.

Requirements

• Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
• Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
• Preventative Maintenance and Repair experience on diesel tractors
• A valid CDL (Class A or B)
• Hand tools

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
• Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
• Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
• Replace clutches & transmissions
