Diesel Mechanic Technician
About The Position
Miller Transportation Group, a leader in the transportation industry since 1912 and family-owned, is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician for its Miller Truck Leasing division in Hartford, CT. This role involves performing routine preventative maintenance, general reconditioning, and repairs on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles. The technician will diagnose and repair engine fault codes using company-supplied OEM software, following warranty procedures. Responsibilities also include repairing/replacing brakes, steering components, suspension, performing alignments, and replacing clutches and transmissions. Miller operates over 40 Diesel Maintenance shops across multiple states and offers a supportive work environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a fleet mechanic, diesel mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic
- Experience or formal training diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 1-7 diesel tractors
- Preventative Maintenance and Repair experience on diesel tractors
- A valid CDL (Class A or B)
- Hand tools
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles
- Diagnose, document, and repair engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures
- Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments
- Replace clutches & transmissions
