Our Mechanics safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely, so our Drivers can continue to keep local neighborhoods clean and safe, by courteously and efficiently providing waste removal and environmental services to customers. As a Diesel Mechanic, you are the backbone of our operations. You'll keep our fleet of heavy-duty diesel trucks and rolling stock running safely and efficiently so our drivers can serve the community.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • High school diploma or GED (technical diploma or trade school preferred).
  • Proficient with diagnostic software/tools and comfortable learning new software systems.
  • Must possess and maintain your own set of tools required for heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Reliable, independent problem solver who follows safety procedures and federal/state/local regulations.
  • Ability to safely operate equipment and perform all physical aspects of heavy vehicle maintenance.
  • Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
  • Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment including rolling stock to ensure its ability to operate safely
  • Troubleshoot and fix heavy-duty diesel trucks, CNG, gas, hydraulic, and electrical equipment.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, rebuilds, and major repairs.
  • Track repairs, order required parts, and schedule jobs using our M5 system.
  • Maintain safe working conditions, comply with safety regulations, and utilize standard power and hand tools.
