About The Position

Amwaste is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Shop Manager to oversee its busy diesel repair shop in Lagrange, Georgia. The manager will lead a team of mechanics in delivering high-quality repairs and exceptional customer service, while overseeing shop operations and supporting efficient, safe work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of experience in diesel mechanics, including at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Manage shop operations, including scheduling, staffing, and inventory management.
• Ensure repairs are completed efficiently and on time, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
• Hire, train, and supervise diesel mechanics, providing guidance and support.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve shop efficiency and productivity.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, inventory, and customer interactions.
• Communicate with customers about repair status and address their questions or concerns.
