About The Position

Amwaste is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic Shop Manager to oversee our busy diesel repair shop in Fairburn, GA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics and management, with a proven track record of success in leading a team of mechanics to deliver high-quality repairs and exceptional customer service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in diesel mechanics, with at least 2 years in a management or supervisory role
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and equipment
• Knowledge of diesel engine systems, including electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee all aspects of the diesel repair shop, including scheduling, staffing, and inventory management
• Ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely and efficient manner, meeting or exceeding customer expectations
• Hire, train, and supervise a team of diesel mechanics, providing guidance and support as needed
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
• Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve shop efficiency and productivity
• Maintain accurate records of all repairs, inventory, and customer interactions
• Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on repair status and addressing any concerns or questions they may have
