About The Position

Field Service Technician - Training Provided Location: Anniston, AL Employment Type: Contract | Hours: 40+ hrs./week, Mon–Fri (Travel Required) Pay $29.93 Perks & Benefits: sick time, bonus, travel opportunities, career growth, hands-on technical experience About the Role You will play a critical role supporting advanced military vehicle systems as a Field Service Technician specializing in the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV). In this position, you will work hands-on in the field performing diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and training personnel to ensure mission readiness. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise in real-world environments while supporting national defense operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Typical duties will include travel to military bases to perform vehicle upgrades and modifications, inspections, repair, servicesand maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable of US Army Maintenance system or Dealer Management Systems
  • Able to interpret and use all types of engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams and specification sheets
  • Ability to read, understand and follow written technical work instructions, modification work orders (MWOs) and other technical specifications
  • Able to use computers in report writing, data management and word processing
  • Able to use all types of hand and power tools, oscilloscopes, digital volt and ohm meters, diagnostic computers/software, lifting devices, carrying or support equipment, including safe use of slings and chains
  • Familiar with the use and operation of Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) for automotive, electrical, electronic and fire control systems
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing military tracked vehicles or similar heavy equipment
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and test equipment (TMDE)
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and data management
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Willingness to travel frequently, including short-notice assignments
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AMPV, Bradley, or similar military vehicle platforms
  • Prior military service or experience with U.S. Army maintenance systems
  • Experience training or mentoring personnel
  • Familiarity with Dealer Management Systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, fire control, and weapons systems
  • Travel to military installations to perform vehicle upgrades, inspections, repairs, and maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system faults using engineering drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools
  • Train soldiers and maintenance personnel on vehicle systems and repair procedures
  • Interpret and execute modification work orders (MWOs) and technical instructions
  • Utilize TMDE and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes and volt/ohm meters
  • Document service activities and communicate technical findings to leadership
  • Serve as a technical liaison between internal teams and military personnel
