About The Position

The individual instructor is the key figure in the educational pattern of the college, and his/her attitude, personality, skill, character, and initiative will determine how well the college fulfills its objectives. He/she plays a prominent role in curriculum development through continual evaluation.

Requirements

  • An Associate Degree in Diesel Technology and relative work experience in either the Diesel repair field
  • Demonstration of excellent communication and interpersonal skills, initiative, and flexibility is required

Nice To Haves

  • Two to five years work experience in the related field
  • Must obtain ASE Certifications within the first 12 months of hire
  • Computer literacy
  • Class A CD L required or must obtain within the first 12 months of hire
  • Evidence of success working with students or employees in educational and/or industrial settings
  • Willingness to advise students, lead student groups in selected extracurricular activities, and assist in building camaraderie and positive relations among colleagues
  • Willingness to establish, maintain and enhance positive relationships with related industries
  • Willingness to establish, maintain and enhance positive relationships with related professional organizations (i.e.ASE, NATEF)

Responsibilities

  • Develops curricula based on industry demand
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the subject
  • Communicates with students the goals, objectives, and expectations of the course
  • Embeds national credentials into their respective program
  • Keeps accurate records of attendance and grades and submits all reports and other information promptly and accurately
  • Maintains discipline in the classroom
  • Contextualizes modern manufacturing core skills in curriculum
  • Participates actively in professional development opportunities in the discipline
  • Maintains required office and class hours
  • Serves as recruiter for his/her respective program
  • Effectively communicates with, cooperates with and supports other college personnel in daily activities
  • Supports the College mission implicitly and explicitly in the daily execution of all duties and responsibilities
  • Actively participates in maintaining an effective and continuous recruiting program
  • Participates in Institutional Effectiveness activities
  • Represents the College in a professional manner as evidenced by dress, demeanor and the discharge of daily responsibilities
  • Fulfills other duties as assigned by the President and/or supervisor
