About The Position
The individual instructor is the key figure in the educational pattern of the college, and his/her attitude, personality, skill, character, and initiative will determine how well the college fulfills its objectives. He/she plays a prominent role in curriculum development through continual evaluation.
Requirements
- An Associate Degree in Diesel Technology and relative work experience in either the Diesel repair field
- Demonstration of excellent communication and interpersonal skills, initiative, and flexibility is required
Nice To Haves
- Two to five years work experience in the related field
- Must obtain ASE Certifications within the first 12 months of hire
- Computer literacy
- Class A CD L required or must obtain within the first 12 months of hire
- Evidence of success working with students or employees in educational and/or industrial settings
- Willingness to advise students, lead student groups in selected extracurricular activities, and assist in building camaraderie and positive relations among colleagues
- Willingness to establish, maintain and enhance positive relationships with related industries
- Willingness to establish, maintain and enhance positive relationships with related professional organizations (i.e.ASE, NATEF)
Responsibilities
- Develops curricula based on industry demand
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the subject
- Communicates with students the goals, objectives, and expectations of the course
- Embeds national credentials into their respective program
- Keeps accurate records of attendance and grades and submits all reports and other information promptly and accurately
- Maintains discipline in the classroom
- Contextualizes modern manufacturing core skills in curriculum
- Participates actively in professional development opportunities in the discipline
- Maintains required office and class hours
- Serves as recruiter for his/her respective program
- Effectively communicates with, cooperates with and supports other college personnel in daily activities
- Supports the College mission implicitly and explicitly in the daily execution of all duties and responsibilities
- Actively participates in maintaining an effective and continuous recruiting program
- Participates in Institutional Effectiveness activities
- Represents the College in a professional manner as evidenced by dress, demeanor and the discharge of daily responsibilities
- Fulfills other duties as assigned by the President and/or supervisor
