About The Position
A Maintenance Technician A performs repair and maintenance work on diesel and non-diesel equipment and trucks. This includes chassis components, refuse bodies (hydraulic, electrical, and control systems), air brake systems, general engine work, HVAC components, and suspension, drive train, and steering systems. Requirements
- Ability to diagnose multi-system issues and consistently demonstrate technical expertise.
- 5 -7 years of experience as a technician working on heavy-duty trucks.
- Ability to perform inspections and repairs without supervision in some (not all required) of the following heavy truck, or automotive systems: Suspensions & Steering, General Engine, Transmissions, Brakes, Electrical, Hydraulics, Drive Train, Diesel Emissions.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Nice To Haves
- ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8)
- LNG and/or CNG experience
- Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s License
Responsibilities
- Maintains advanced knowledge of, and strong skill proficiency in, vehicle components and systems, with the ability to perform complex repair maintenance functions, on-site and on-road.
- Performs chassis component repair and maintenance.
- Performs repair and maintenance on refuse bodies, including control, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Performs repair and maintenance on air and hydraulic braking systems.
- Performs engine repair and diagnostics.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of diesel fuel systems and fuel systems diagnostics.
- Performs repair and maintenance on suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems.
- Performs heating and air conditioning systems diagnostics and repair.
- Demonstrates complete understanding of Aftertreatment systems, REGEN and diagnostics.
- Diagnoses electrical concerns with scan tools.
- Performs line maintenance, welding, and fabrication.
- Identifies the source of malfunctions using a variety of electronic tools.
- Completes applicable Company training programs.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
