About The Position

I&S Inc. of NY is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Heavy Equipment Mechanic to support our Allegany, NY shop. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 7–8 trucks and hydraulic-powered equipment. This is a stable, year-round position with a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, overtime opportunities, and primarily shop-based work with occasional field service. The equipment you'll work on includes Class 7–8 diesel trucks and trailers, heavy equipment & construction machinery, hydraulic systems (pumps, cylinders, valves, hoses), telehandlers and industrial equipment, and oilfield / drilling equipment (mud pumps, power swivels).

Requirements

• 3+ years experience as a diesel, heavy truck, or heavy equipment mechanic
• Strong experience with hydraulic troubleshooting and repair
• Ability to diagnose and work independently
• Experience with Class 7–8 trucks or heavy industrial equipment
• Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Oil & Gas or construction industry experience
• Field service experience
• Welding/fabrication background

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, drivetrains, and mechanical systems
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and major component repairs
• Read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Complete welding and light fabrication as needed
• Maintain accurate service records
• Follow all company safety procedures
