About The Position

Pacific Ag is looking for an experienced Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Hermiston, Oregon. This is a hands-on position supporting the trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and machinery that keep our operations moving throughout Northeast Oregon and Southeast Washington. We're looking for someone who takes pride in diagnosing problems correctly, making quality repairs, and keeping equipment safe and dependable. If you're an experienced diesel or heavy-equipment mechanic who enjoys variety, working independently, and solving problems, we'd like to hear from you.

Requirements

  • Two or more years of diesel, heavy-equipment, agricultural-equipment, or similar mechanical experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines and mechanical systems.
  • Experience diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and brake systems.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment inspections.
  • Ability to read service manuals, diagrams, specifications, and technical information.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize work and manage changing repair priorities.
  • Ability to work independently while also being part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record acceptable under Company insurance requirements.
  • Relevant technical, vocational, apprenticeship, or military mechanical training is also valued.

Nice To Haves

  • CDL is a plus but is not required unless needed for assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and related machinery.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, servicing, and scheduled repairs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and brake systems.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform field repairs when needed.
  • Inspect equipment for safety concerns, wear, damage, and maintenance needs.
  • Identify needed parts and coordinate repairs to help minimize equipment downtime.
  • Perform operational checks following repairs to ensure equipment is functioning safely and properly.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Keep tools, equipment, service vehicles, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Work closely with drivers, operators, transportation personnel, and management to keep equipment available and operations moving.
