About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Equipment Mechanic to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, cranes, trailers, and other motorized equipment. This position is based in a shop environment but requires some travel to other locations and job sites. Travel may include supporting emergency equipment repairs, performing preventive maintenance, or assisting with fleet repairs at locations without a dedicated mechanic. Travel assignments include overtime and per diem.

Requirements

5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience working with heavy equipment, track equipment, trailers, cranes, or similar machinery.
5+ years of experience in at least two technical areas, such as: Hydraulics, Electronics, Small engines, Air conditioning, Other related mechanical systems
High school diploma or GED.
Trade school, dealership, factory service training, or equivalent technical education in diesel mechanical repair/maintenance.
Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain accurate documentation.
Good computer, organizational, and time-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to respond with urgency when equipment repairs require immediate attention.

Nice To Haves

Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair are preferred.
Additional certifications may be required based on assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to keep equipment operational.
Review daily assignments with the Shop Foreman and prioritize repair and maintenance work.
Complete work orders accurately and within expected timeframes.
Document mileage, operating hours, repair dates, and work performed.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and escalate emergency or high-priority repairs when necessary.
Minimize equipment downtime by efficiently coordinating tools, parts, and repairs.
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
Follow all safety policies and operating procedures.
Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to complete repairs and maintenance projects.
Travel to other locations for maintenance, repairs, training, seminars, meetings, or emergency support.
Perform additional maintenance-related duties as needed.
