About The Position

Nextran Truck Centers is hiring a Diesel Engine Technician for our Engine Shop in Denver, CO. This role is ideal for an experienced Diesel Technician who takes pride in solving tough engine problems and getting trucks back on the road. If you're passionate about diagnostics, rebuilding engines, and working with a team that values quality craftsmanship, we want to meet you! In this role, you'll diagnose, repair, rebuild, and maintain medium- and heavy-duty trucks while working with some of the best technicians in the industry. Spanning the Southeast and Midwest United States, we provide sales, parts, and service for several leading brands, including Mack, Volvo, Isuzu, GMC, Ford, Hino, and Kalmar Ottawa.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of diesel diagnostic experience (10+ years preferred)
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (CDL is a plus)
• Cummins Engine Repair Certification (Required)
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas preferred
• ASE Certifications are a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with email, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and the ability to learn and use dealership management and diagnostic software
• Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

• 10+ years of diesel diagnostic experience
• CDL is a plus
• Master Technician certifications in multiple areas
• ASE Certifications

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medium- and heavy-duty diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform complete engine and transmission rebuilds.
• Complete preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs.
• Accurately document repairs and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate with Parts and Service teams to ensure repairs stay on schedule.
• Identify additional maintenance or safety concerns for customers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow manufacturer repair procedures and dealership standards.
• Stay current on OEM technical bulletins and industry best practices.
• Mentor apprentice technicians and help lead the team when needed.
