Diesel Engine Technician - Level I
About The Position
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in San Antonio, TX. In this role, you will make an impact by completing troubleshooting, repairs, and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop. You will perform preventative maintenance based on engine assessments, utilizing computers and software for diagnostic work. You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, identify and prepare required parts and tools, and complete required documentation. Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products are part of the role. You will also adhere to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislation, and report any issues/incidents to your supervisor.
Requirements
- Complete troubleshooting, repairs and rebuilds on engine products and other customer equipment in a service shop.
- Perform preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines, including utilizing computers/software in the process of diagnostic work.
- Apply documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.
- Completing required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
- Ongoing training and additional certifications on new and existing Cummins products.
- Adhere to all our relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
- Disassemble, inspect, clean and reassemble engines and /or engine components.
- Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans engines in the workshop.
- Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
