Diesel Engine Repair and Performance Technician
About The Position
Kendall Ford is seeking a Diesel Engine Repair and Performance Technician. This role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and performing necessary repairs on various vehicles. Responsibilities include making adjustments, calibrating systems, topping off fluids, disassembling and reassembling components, and replacing parts. The technician will use independent judgment, document work according to policies, and road test vehicles to ensure quality. The work is performed indoors in a shop environment, requiring the use of mechanic's hand and power tools. The job involves standing and walking for the entire shift, with frequent pushing, pulling, crouching, squatting, reaching, and kneeling. Lifting, pushing, and pulling weights of 20 to 100 pounds will be occasionally required. Requirements
- Minimum of two years previous mechanical or tech experience at a dealership or large independent shop.
- Ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles both automatic and manual transmissions.
- A valid driver license and good driving record are required.
Nice To Haves
- ASE certifications are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Inspecting, diagnosing, and identifying work that needs to be completed on various vehicles.
- Performing adjustments and calibrations.
- Replenishing fluids.
- Disassembling and reassembling vehicle components.
- Repairing or replacing parts.
- Using independent judgment to make decisions.
- Documenting all work and hours per manufacturer and Kendall policies.
- Road testing all vehicles to ensure quality of work and issues resolution.
