About The Position
Academy Bus is seeking a full-time Class C Diesel Mechanic for our Perth Amboy, NJ location. This position offers a $2500 Sign On Bonus. The pay rate is $23.00-$28.00 per hour, commensurate with experience level. The shift for this role is the 2nd Shift.
Requirements
- 1-4 years of hands on experience, diesel engine maintenance preferred
- Minimum personal tool value $2000
- Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks and testing instruments
- Valid driver's license
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
Responsibilities
- Repair, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of modern tour buses
- Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
- General lubrication functions such as: Oil/filters, air filters, chassis lubrication, transmission fluids/filters, differential fluids, axel/wheels.
- Inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components under supervision such as: Brake components, suspension components, tires, and seats.
- Warranty and repair documentation
- Assist A and B Level Mechanics with skilled work
