About The Position

Academy Bus is seeking a full-time Bus Mechanic Level A/B for our Bristow, VA location. This position offers a $2500 sign-on bonus and pays $29.00-$34.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Payday is every Friday. The shift is the 2nd shift, from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Requirements

Diesel Bus Mechanic (B) 4-7 years of diesel engine maintenance
Diesel Bus Mechanic (A) 7+ years of diesel engine maintenance
Proficient in the use of diagnostic devices such as: DDEC readers, ATEC readers, SmarTire, schematics, AIC (Freon) recovery and charging equipment
Proven ability to use hands tools, power tools, hydraulic jacks, welding equipment, and testing instruments
Must have own tools according to level
Valid driver's license
Basic computer skills
Willingness to obtain a CDL License

Nice To Haves

CDL License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsement is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

Repair, troubleshooting and diagnosis of modern tour buses
Reconditioning, preventative and routine maintenance
Inspections and road tests
Warranty and repair documentation
Diagnosis, inspection, installation, disassembly and cleaning of components such as: brakes, suspension, tires, bearings, seals, radiators, water pumps, coolant hoses, alternators, regulators, steering components, oil/air filters, door assemblies, controls, seats, belts, electric motors, pneumatic valves, cables, and linkages.
Respond to road calls
Basic welding/fabrication
Class B Mechanics will assist A Level Mechanics with skilled work and train/supervise C Level Mechanics
Class A Mechanics will train and supervise Mechanics and Cleaners.
