About The Position

The Die Technician is responsible for monitoring the production schedule to ensure dies are ready when needed by production and maintaining dies in optimum condition for immediate installation on lines. This role requires extensive functional and operational knowledge, including the ability to fully disassemble, inspect, clean, assess, and reassemble dies, as well as correctly wire heating components. The technician will utilize electrical multi-testers to assess and replace heater bands, rods, and thermocouples, troubleshoot and resolve die operation issues, and complete required documentation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience as a line operator running various profiles on extrusion required.
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to accommodate die assembly as directed by Supervisor.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels within the manufacturing plant.
  • Must be a strong team player and set high standards for him/her.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor production schedule to ensure that all dies are ready when needed by production.
  • Keep dies in optimum condition, ready to install on lines at any time.
  • Entirely disassemble, inspect, clean, assess and reassemble dies, including hay-sites and correct wiring of heating components.
  • Utilize electrical multi-tester to determine status of heater bands, rods and thermocouples, replacing as necessary.
  • Trouble-shoot and correct issues related to die operation.
  • Decipher and complete required documentation in the die assembly and storage areas.
