About The Position

Keystone Powdered Metal Company, a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a full-time Die Setter to work in their St. Marys, PA location. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and operates on a 3x3 schedule during the night shift, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The role involves making complex setups and initial sample setups on hydraulic and mechanical equipment in molding and sizing operations with minimal assistance. The Die Setter will also operate equipment, make adjustments to ensure product quality (including furnace temperature and belt speed), and maintain records of product/process information. Effective use of measuring equipment is crucial for maintaining control conditions. The position requires active input into continuous process improvement and clear communication of job-related information to colleagues and supervisors. Maintaining cooperative relationships with other functional areas is also important. In some instances, the Die Setter may be assigned lead-off duties, directing the department in the absence of supervisory staff. Reliable and consistent attendance is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• To efficiently and safely make highly complex setups, initial sample complex setups on hydraulic and mechanical equipment in molding and sizing operations with minimal assistance
• To efficiently and safely operate equipment, including the making of satisfactory adjustments to ensure product quality. This includes the ability to adjust furnace temperature and/or belt speed
• Legibly record and maintain applicable product/process information
• Effectively utilize measuring equipment and information obtained from its use to insure continuation of control conditions
• Provide active input to continuous process improvement
• Effectively communicate job related information to co-workers, supervisors and others with a need to know.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with other functional areas
• May be assigned the leadoff duties, directing the dept. in absence of the supervisory force and assist at other times
• Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement and essential function of this position
