About The Position

Responsible for the coordinated movement of all dies and materials and or items required, to ensure the most efficient flow of production. This role involves pre-staging dies/check fixtures/material according to die setup procedure, loading coils, and assisting operators in starting coils according to die setup procedure. The Die Setter is also responsible for accurately completing all required paperwork, including Pre Shift Crane Inspection and Pre Shift Forklift Inspection forms, and assisting operators in performing Pre Shift Press Safety Inspection to ensure compliance with all required Health and Safety procedures. Additionally, the role provides relief for operators on both transfer and progressive presses and handles date stamp changes for each run. The position requires continuous adherence to the Magna Employee’s Charter, the Magna Corporate Constitution, and the Magna Operational Principles, effective use of MDV’s Escalation Process, and compliance with IATF customer requirements. The Die Setter must attend all scheduled meetings and training, understand and follow established rules, procedures, and policies, and ensure a safe working environment by observing safe work practices and following all safety policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned, such as running the press.

Requirements

  • High school/GED or equivalent with previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Completion of grade 12 or equivalent with previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Background in manufacturing with press experience including quality and safety initiatives
  • Must hold a valid counter-balance forklift certificate/OH Crane Train Certificate
  • 3-year related experience running both transfer and progressive presses and coil set up
  • Physically capable of performing essential duties of the job
  • Working knowledge of the English language both written and oral.
  • Thorough understanding of SPC and Quality Requirements, etc.

Responsibilities
