Die Setter - 2nd Shift
About The Position
Omega Plastics Inc is seeking a Die Setter for their 2nd Shift at the Clinton Township, MI location. This role involves preparing injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and setting molds into machines. Responsibilities include setting barrel heats, process, robot, end of arm tooling (EOAT), nozzle replacement, and managing connections for water, air, or hydraulic lines. The Die Setter will also pull existing molds, store unused equipment, support material handler duties, and complete necessary paperwork. This is a full-time, hourly position for the 2nd Shift, with working hours from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, 5-6 days a week on-site.
Requirements
- High School Education or Equivalent (GED) preferred
- Able to prioritize safety and best practices on mold setup.
- One to three months on the job training is required for the assignment.
- Good attendance is a requirement for this position.
Responsibilities
- Read operator and setup instructions and fully understand the function of the mold, such as hydraulic core sequence, water diagram, etc.
- Set barrel heats after ensuring the injection molding machine (IMM) is purged of previous material.
- Clean mold back plates (clamping surface) and platens before and after each mold change.
- Install and remove molds according to established procedures.
- Use of crane in accordance with established procedures.
- Install all related connections needed for a mold change.
- Install pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical signals, hot runner, RJG, cores, without damaging them, verifying for leaks and proper signal relation.
- Follow water line diagram; if needed, fill out water diagram.
- Ensure all water lines are connected, flow verified, and safety locks installed.
- If needed, connect and test hydraulic and/or pneumatic lines for proper function.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by performing assigned duties.
- Complete required paperwork and any necessary documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain all working areas to be free of trip hazards, removing all unused components from the surrounding area of the IMM when completing mold changes.
- Support material handler responsibilities.
